Salary: Up to $140,000 DOE (negotiable)

About the Role
An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced and compassionate Governess to join a prestigious household in Palm Beach, Florida, as an academic mentor and guide for a 5-year-old child.
This position calls for a mission-driven educator with a strong academic foundation and an understanding of early and primary education. The family seeks someone who can inspire curiosity, nurture individuality, and instil a lifelong love of learning, while maintaining mindfulness, grace, and balance in every interaction.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily educational guidance and support for a G5 student
- Design engaging lessons aligned with K–12 standards
- Develop and implement a well-rounded curriculum covering key academic and developmental areas
- Encourage autonomy, critical thinking, and self-discovery through creative and interactive teaching
- Integrate life skills, etiquette, and social awareness into everyday routines
- Track and assess progress with care, providing regular feedback to the family
- Collaborate closely with parents and other household professionals to ensure consistency
- Travel nationally and internationally as required
- Adapt seamlessly to the family’s flexible schedule and travel requirements
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Childcare, Education, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Educational background aligned with K–12 experience or knowledge
- Proven record of longevity in private households or educational settings
- Experience teaching or mentoring children aged 4–8
- Fluent English speaker with excellent communication and writing skills
- Warm, patient, and emotionally intelligent personality
- Able to manage structured routines with flexibility and composure
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain before start)
- Valid Driver’s Licence (own car ideal)
- Eligible to work in the U.S. (or able to relocate to Palm Beach, FL)
Desirable:
- Teaching qualifications or certifications in alternative education methods (Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, RIE, Norland, etc.)
- Interest or experience in S.T.E.M., languages, or the arts/music
- Knowledge of educational psychology and child development theory
Compensation & Benefits
