Housekeeper / Household Organiser – Essex
Location: Halstead Area, Essex
Salary: £20.00 – £22.00 per hour
Hours: 30 hours per week

Prestige People is looking for an experienced and highly organised Housekeeper / Household Organiser to join a well-established private family household in Essex.
This is a lovely opportunity for someone who enjoys traditional housekeeping but whose real strength lies in organisation – creating order, managing wardrobes and ensuring a busy family home runs smoothly behind the scenes.
You will work alongside an existing, long-standing Housekeeper who knows the property exceptionally well. Rather than simply adding another cleaner to the household, the family is looking for someone who can complement the existing team with strong organisational skills, initiative and an excellent eye for detail.
The Role
This is a large and active family home which becomes particularly busy when the family is in residence.
The position will combine hands-on housekeeping with household organisation and wardrobe management, including:
- General housekeeping, tidying and maintaining presentation
- Wardrobe management and organisation
- Laundry and garment care
- Organising cupboards, drawers and storage areas
- Keeping bedrooms and family areas beautifully ordered
- Ensuring household items are where they should be
- Preparing and resetting the home ahead of family visits
- Identifying areas requiring attention without needing constant direction
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day organisation of the household
- Working collaboratively alongside the existing Housekeeper
There are no nanny duties and no cooking responsibilities.
A Year-Round Position
The family spends approximately half of the year outside the UK, but importantly, this is a permanent year-round role.
When the family is away, there is still plenty to do – from wardrobes, storage and household organisation to deeper housekeeping and preparing the property for their return.
When the family is in residence, the home becomes considerably busier, so a flexible and hands-on approach will be important. There may occasionally be a need for longer hours during these periods.

This role would particularly suit someone who loves organisation and takes genuine satisfaction from seeing a beautifully ordered home.
You should have:
- Previous professional housekeeping experience
- Strong household organisation skills
- Excellent wardrobe and garment-care experience
- Good laundry and ironing skills
- A naturally proactive approach
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A discreet, trustworthy and professional manner
- Flexibility during busier household periods
- Strong checkable references
