The Role
You will take meaningful ownership of the child’s educational journey, designing and delivering an exceptional private curriculum with strong foundations in IB PYP, STEM and inquiry-based learning.
Responsibilities will include:
- Designing a rigorous, engaging and individualised homeschool curriculum
- Creating a multi-year educational roadmap and monitoring academic progress
- Delivering exceptional STEM, literacy and inquiry-led learning
- Encouraging independent thinking, curiosity and confident questioning
- Turning travel and real-world experiences into meaningful educational opportunities
- Developing communication, creativity and a genuine love of learning
- Supporting character development, resilience, kindness and independence
- Identifying exceptional educational resources, experiences and specialists worldwide
- Collaborating closely with parents and other professionals
- Maintaining educational continuity throughout extensive international travel
The successful candidate will become a trusted presence within the family’s world and must be equally comfortable leading an exceptional lesson, navigating an international travel schedule and working collaboratively within a sophisticated private household.
Who We’re Looking For
This position requires an accomplished career educator with proven private household experience.
You will ideally offer:
- Previous experience as a Governess or Private Home Educator – essential
- 10+ years of exceptional teaching experience
- Master’s degree in Education, Child Development or relevant academic discipline
- Strong knowledge and practical experience of IB PYP methodology
- Excellent STEM knowledge and the ability to make mathematics and science exciting
- Proven curriculum-design experience
- Strong understanding of inquiry-based and experiential education
- Confidence incorporating technology and AI thoughtfully into education
- Musical ability or strong musical literacy is highly desirable
- Experience travelling extensively with private families
- Exceptional discretion, judgement and emotional intelligence
- Outstanding professional references
