About the Role
Prestige People is delighted to be recruiting an experienced Housekeeper for a private family home in Cheltenham.
This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for a professional Housekeeper looking for a quality private household position with genuine flexibility.
The family is open to both full-time and part-time candidates and is happy to discuss the working pattern with the right person. Depending on the arrangement, candidates may either be employed directly by the family or work on an appropriate self-employed basis.
The household consists of two adults, three children and one dog. Although this is an active family home, this position is strictly focused on housekeeping – there are no nanny or childcare responsibilities.
The family is ultimately looking for someone they can trust and rely upon for the long term: discreet, experienced, proactive and someone who takes genuine pride in keeping a home beautifully maintained.
The Role
You will be responsible for the general day-to-day care and presentation of the home, including:
- General housekeeping and cleaning to an excellent standard
- Laundry and ironing
- Changing beds and managing household linen
- Maintaining bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas
- Keeping the home organised, tidy and beautifully presented
- Simple meal preparation for the family
- Kitchen organisation and upkeep
- Monitoring and replenishing household supplies
- General household organisation
- Identifying tasks that require attention and dealing with them proactively
There are three children within the household; however, there are no nanny duties or childcare responsibilities attached to the position.
The family also has one dog, so candidates should be comfortable working within a dog-friendly household.
About You
We are looking for someone who understands the standards expected within a quality private household and can work confidently without requiring constant direction.
You will ideally be:
- Experienced within private households or similarly high-standard environments
- Discreet, trustworthy and dependable
- An excellent communicator
- Naturally organised with strong attention to detail
- Proactive and confident working independently
- Experienced with laundry and ironing
- Comfortable preparing simple family meals
- Comfortable around dogs
- Flexible and easy to work with
- Looking for a stable, long-term position
Excellent references will be required.
