About the Role
Prestige People is delighted to be recruiting for an exceptional Senior Housekeeper / Leitende Hausdame to join a private UHNW family at their principal residence in Bogenhausen, one of Munich’s most prestigious residential areas.
This is an outstanding long-term opportunity for an accomplished private household professional who combines impeccable housekeeping standards with the confidence and experience to help lead a small housekeeping team.
The family’s main residence is a substantial newly built property of approximately 4,500 sqm including its private gardens. Every aspect of the home is maintained to an exceptional standard, from specialist surfaces and luxury furnishings to delicate fabrics and wardrobe care.
The successful candidate will form part of a team of three housekeepers, working on rotation and reporting to the House Manager. While this is a senior position involving the organisation and coordination of two other housekeepers, it is essential that the successful candidate remains genuinely hands-on.
The family is looking for someone who leads by example: proactive, discreet, highly organised and exceptionally attentive to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining the residence to impeccable private household standards
- Professional cleaning and care of luxury furnishings, fabrics and interiors
- Specialist care of marble, granite, slate, parquet and other high-quality surfaces
- High-end laundry and wardrobe care, including silk, cashmere and other delicate fabrics
- Organising and coordinating the work of two additional housekeepers
- Preparing weekly schedules, rotas and holiday plans for the housekeeping team
- Ensuring consistent standards across all areas of the residence
- Preparing breakfast and occasional light, fresh and healthy meals when required
- Supporting dinner service and private events within the residence
- Supervising and coordinating external tradespeople, contractors and service providers
- Managing household errands including grocery shopping, dry cleaning, deliveries and post
- Driving for household shopping and errands
- Managing and monitoring budgets relating to household errands and purchases
- Working closely with the House Manager to ensure the residence operates seamlessly
- Taking on additional household responsibilities according to experience and seniority
Candidate Requirements
- Significant professional housekeeping experience within an UHNW private residence
- Candidates with luxury yachting or exceptional 5-star hotel housekeeping experience may also be considered
- Previous experience supervising or coordinating other household staff is highly desirable
- Strong hands-on housekeeping skills despite the seniority of the position
- Excellent knowledge of luxury fabrics, specialist surfaces and high-end household care
- Proven longevity in previous positions
- Excellent and verifiable professional references
- Fluent German and English
- Full driving licence
- EU passport / unrestricted ability to work in Germany
- Confident using technology and household IT systems
- Willingness to work weekends and public holidays as required
- Strictly non-smoking
- Highly discreet, reliable and responsible
- Professional, proactive and capable of working independently
Working Pattern
The position is based on 40 hours per week, with flexibility according to the family’s residence schedule.
When the principals are in residence, working days may operate on a split-shift basis:
08:00–13:00 and 18:00–21:00
Weekend and public holiday work will form part of the rota. When weekend days are worked, corresponding days off will normally be provided during the following week.
The housekeeping team consists of three professionals working on rotation and reporting directly to the House Manager.
